Due to the spate of knife crimes in London in 2019, the Buffini Chao Foundation was asked to support this special EYLA programme. The Eastside Knife Crime Initiative (aka Antebellum) has run several workshops for young people affiliated with gangs and serious youth violence.
Sessions have included stop and search, domestic abuse, drill music and joint enterprise/knives, mindfulness & meditation. They have also participated in creative arts activities, debating and team building as well as weekend residentials. Participants receive mentoring and where appropriate are referred for life coaching or counselling.
