Sir Damon and Lady Buffini visited the ‘Chance to Shine’ Nunsmoor Project in Newcastle. This was held in the new Newcastle United Football Club Foundation sports facility (very close to St James’ Park).

The group consisted of 30 boys and girls between the ages of six and eleven. The street cricket drills were implemented in such a way that all ages and abilities enjoyed them and got fully involved. There was always some kind of competitive element with an emphasis on fun, teamwork and skill development.
